We are pleased to invite you to the online lecture Polish Sex Positivity Discourse and Its Queer Potential by Katarzyna Lisowska Ph.D.
It is scheduled for 14th of June, Monday, at 5:00 pm.
In the presentation, Polish sex positivity discourse and its relationship to queer theory will be discussed. The author will analyze selected Polish publications which represent this movement, focusing on the typical features of sex positivity approach and showing conceptual overlaps between this perspective and queer theory. In conclusion, Lisowska will mention the functioning and possible outcomes of this alliance in the Polish context.
Katarzyna Lisowska, PhD, works in the Department of Polish Studies at the University of Wrocław. In her research, she focuses on the representations of body, sex/gender and sexuality in literature and literary studies. She is also interested in the theory and practice of anarchism. She published a number of articles and a monography (Kraków 2019), Metaforyczność w dyskursie genderowym polskiego literaturoznawstwa po 1989 roku [The metaphorical in the gender studies’ discourse of Polish literary studies after 1989].
