5th November 2020, 5 pm: Reproductive Rights in Poland – Historical Aspects and Current Struggles

On October 22, 2020, the Constitutional Tribunal, Poland’s Supreme Court, has ruled that abortions in cases of foetal defects are unconstitutional. This decision has resulted in wide protests that are currently taking place throughout the country.

We would like to react to the current situation by inviting you to the lecture Reproductive Rights in Poland – Historical Aspects and Current Struggles given by Katarzyna Rakowska. The meeting is going to take place via Zoom on Thursday, November the 5th at 5 pm. To join the meeting click here.

Katarzyna Rakowska is a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Sociology in University of Warsaw. Her research interests include strikes, trade unions and gender in industrial relations. Together with prof. Julia Kubisa they wrote an analysis of women’s protests 2016-2018 in Poland: Was it a strike? Notes on the Polish Women’s Strike and the Strike of Parents of Persons with Disabilities, Praktyka Teoretyczna 4(30)/2018.
